Some time ago I was given a camera. Not the first camera I ever owned, not by any means. But this one was different. From the moment I first looked through the waist level viewfinder something changed.
I know it’s not normal to name a camera, but Vlad is something else.
Not every photo on this blog was taken by Vlad – I have a healthy collection of film cameras – they all fulfil their own roles and you’ll see them crop up from time to time. But Vlad’s the one I’d save from a fire, the one I’d take with me on my desert island.

Hi Debra, I’ve just discovered your blog and book 52 weeks and I’m very inspired to go and get to grips with my recently acquired Hasselblad 500 C/M. I’ve been working mainly with 35mm till now. The idea of doing projects with people I’ve never met really appeals to me! Anyway it’s been great to see your work and to drop by and say hello!
best wishes
Rhys
