About

34-365
I’m an avid reader and I’ve been writing fiction seriously since I was in my mid-thirties (though I wrote my first short story purely for fun when I was 13). I’ve had a number of short stories published in print and on-line, and I’m working on a novel (isn’t everyone these days?)

I’ve been taking photos ever since I was old enough to hold a camera, but in the last few years I’ve been trying to develop my skill as a photographer. On the 1st of January 2007 I started a project to take a self portrait every day for a year. You can see the results here. Only take a look if you really want to see up 365 mugshots of me.

In 2008 I started another self portrait project, I wasn’t planning on doing more self portraits but copious quantities of beer and encouragement friends and 2 people I had never met before turned my head. Those shots will all end up peppering the pages of the blog, but you can see them together here.

One day when I was bored, I made one of those lists. I’m not sure what it says about me.

  1. Hi Debra, I’ve just discovered your blog and book 52 weeks and I’m very inspired to go and get to grips with my recently acquired Hasselblad 500 C/M. I’ve been working mainly with 35mm till now. The idea of doing projects with people I’ve never met really appeals to me! Anyway it’s been great to see your work and to drop by and say hello!

    best wishes
