Kindling the ebook market?

Amazon has unveiled Kindle - an ebook reader which is being praised as the holy grail and condemned as the last gasp of e-publishing.

But let’s not get too excited. You won’t be seeing commuters all over Europe getting into the latest e-book on the way home from work.

Even if the $400 price tag + $10 per book wasn’t enough to put people off - kindle is built on wireless technology that’s only available in the US.

It’s been compared to the ipod, but for my money it’s too big and kind of ugly too - (pics on engadget) I can’t imagine it fitting in my handbag, let alone the pocket of my jeans.
